Marcelo Pablo Pittari’s artistic statement.
I make art because it makes me happy. When I work with my paintings I enjoy the freedom of doing whatever I desire.
My paintings begin with my understanding the environment the objects are in and by doing very careful graphite drawings and studies.
When I get into my work, there is a process of combining and mixing my pigments based on a perception and feeling that comes from my interior life and makes the physical world become only dark and light and big simple shapes.
I work with oil base pigments because they allow me to make work over a long period of time keeping my mind in a constant action of push and pull, positives and negatives until I find the balance in the painting.
